Attendance:
The school day begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 3:00 PM for all grades. A written excuse by a parent or guardian must be presented to the teacher when a student returns to school after an absence. Excuses must be presented within 3 days of the student's return or the absence will be considered unexcused. If an absence is foreseeable, a note should be sent in advance. Absences other than sickness and emergency will be excused only if arrangements are made in advance with the principal. Dress Code: Students must always be neat and modest. No clothing with holes, belts hanging below the waist , inappropriately sized clothing, or sloppy dress will be permitted. Students may not wear shorts to class. Girls may wear split skirts, skorts, or culottes, only if they are clearly full enough not to be considered shorts. Capri pants must be well below the knee. Students may not wear tank tops or tops with spaghetti straps. Students in grades K-6 may come to school on gym days wearing their gym clothes, so they will not need to change at school. However, students who want to wear shorts for gym, must either wear sweatpants over them or change at their lunch time. Students may not wear clothing representing rock groups, celebrities, or offensive philosophies. Halloween, gothic and macabre themes are to be avoided. Lunch: Lunch is offered at the school each day. Lunches are billed through the computer system and will appear on your monthly invoice. Milk is included in the price of the main entree. Students may bring their own lunches from home. No food is to be left overnight. Slushies: They will be available to the Kindergarten students on Wednesdays only. Folders: Each day your child will bring home their finished papers for you to see. If there is any homework, please complete it that night and send in the following day. |
Snack:
Please send in a morning snack with your child. We ask that only "dry" (can include cut-up apples, banana, vegetables) snacks be sent in. Children may also bring plain water to drink with their snack. If water is needed also for lunch, please send in a separate bottle for lunchtime. Please LABEL all snacks and water bottles. Birthdays: If you would like to send in a snack for your child's birthday, please provide a treat/snack for each student. If utensils are needed, please send those in with the snack. Class size - 17 students, 2 aides. Allergies: Nut Gym: Gym is on Thursday. No gym the first week of school. We have recess every day and are asking if each of the students could bring in a pair of soft-soled shoes to wear in the gym for recess time that they could keep in their locker for this purpose. They do not have to be expensive, just safe for play and so as not to damage the gym floor. So that would mean no shoes with buckles, or dress shoes that have heels that would deface the new floor. If an extra pair of sneakers is a financial hardship, students may wear their sneakers to school, and the bottoms would be checked before they enter the gym. If they wear other shoes or boots to school, they would need to bring along their sneakers for gym and recess. PRAISING ELOHIM FOR CREATING ME: Every week a child is featured on our "Praising Elohim for Creating Me" bulletin board. When it is your child's turn to be featured, you will receive a letter a week in advance explaining what is needed for the board. |
